Dear Prospective Player:
I hope this letter finds you well. Thank you for your interest in Malvern Prep and thank you for your interest in Malvern Prep lacrosse. Being a student-athlete at Malvern is a special experience, and as coaches, we truly believe that the coach-to-player relationship lasts a lifetime. We hope that you consider Malvern because of what it offers academically, athletically, and spiritually.
Malvern Preparatory School is a private, independent, and college preparatory boys’ school founded by the Augustinians, a Roman Catholic religious order. Under the guidance of a self-perpetuating Board of Trustees, Augustinian and lay educators cooperatively conduct the teaching and administrative functions of the school. Endeavoring to serve society in general, Malvern seeks to create an academic community in which, through free and close interpersonal relationships, the intellectual, religious, moral, cultural and physical capacities of its students will be brought to an advanced stage of development.
Malvern’s lacrosse program is recognized as one of the most competitive programs in Pennsylvania, and consistently plays a schedule that is one of the most rigorous in the country. Since 2002, Malvern has won six Inter-Ac championships, and in 2006 Malvern captured the Pennsylvania State Championship. In addition to its tremendous team success, Malvern has produced some of the most highly touted high school players. Over the course of the past eight years, eighteen players have received All-American honors. Moreover, a substantial number of recent graduates have continued their lacrosse careers at some of the most prestigious lacrosse programs and academic institutions in the country. Some of those programs are: Duke, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Villanova, Loyola, Princeton, Lehigh, University of Pennsylvania, Johns Hopkins, UVA, Brown, Villanova and UNC.
Ultimately, we want to provide our student-athletes with the best four-year experience as possible. We challenge our players to work hard, to not make excuses, and to place their teammates before themselves. If you are not currently a Malvern student and are in 7th or 8th grade and are interested in attending Malvern and playing lacrosse, please click on the link below and complete the questionnaire. If you are a student in high school, not attending Malvern Prep, and you wish to transfer to Malvern and play lacrosse at Malvern, please also click on the link to submit the questionnaire.
