David Metzbower
Head Coach: David Metzbower

After serving as an Assistant Coach at Haverford School during the 2010 season, David Metzbower was named Malvern Prep’s Head Lacrosse Coach. Prior to coming to Malvern, David spent over 20 seasons at Princeton University as an Associate and Assistant Head Coach. He helped drive a program that has won 6 NCAA Championships and made 10 Final Four appearances.

Metzbower served as Princeton’s Offensive Coordinator and Goalie Coach. Since 2000, he has taught and coached 27 first team All-Americans, 74 first team All Ivy League selections and 7 Ivy League Players of the Year. Metzbower has coached Princeton’s top 4 career point leaders and top 5 career goal leaders. He has coached 22 first team All-Ivy attackmen as well as four attackmen who were named Ivy League Player of the Year.

Prior to his arrival at Princeton, Metzbower was an assistant at Delaware from 1987 to 1989, where he had also been a standout attackman before graduating in 1986. Metzbower has a long history as a player on the college and club level. A native of Baltimore, Metzbower is a graduate of Loyola High School.

P.T. Ricci

Varsity Associate Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator: P.T. Ricci

Coach Ricci A conestoga High School and Loyola College graduate joins the Malvern coaching staff after a year as the volunteer assistant coach at Towson university.

Ricci earned All-America honors as a senior after leading the Greyhounds to a 9-5 record. Named as the ECAC Defensive Player of the Year, he led the nation with 51 caused turnovers and recorded a team-high 91 ground balls.

Ricci also contributed two goals and Seven assists and earned first team All-ECAC honors for the second straight season. Following college Ricci was 1 of 84 players invited to tryout for Team USA. A native of Wayne, Pa., he finished his collegiate career with 232 ground balls and 115 caused turnovers.

Ricci was selected by the Washington Bayhawks with the 11th overall pick in the 2009 Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft. Ricci enters his 3rd year in the MLL after a 2010 MLL championship title.

Varsity Assistant Coach: Phil Fogli

Coach Phil Fogli comes to Malvern Prep after coaching goalies at St. Joseph’s Prep for three seasons.

A 2000 graduate of Syracuse University, Phil played at Syracuse for two years under coach Roy Simmons Jr. before suffering a career ending injury. Phil graduated from Mercersburg Academy in 1995, after three years starting in goal for Archbishop Carroll, where he led the team to a Catholic League Championship in 1994.

Head Coach JVA: Bob Dilonno

Coach Bob DiIonno is a native of Chatham, NJ where he attended high school and was a member of a state playoff football team and a multi-sport athlete. A graduate of East Stroudsburg University, he was team captain and MVP of his lacrosse team and a member of many club field and box lacrosse teams.

Bob brings over twenty years of playing and coaching experience. Bob coached the Neumann College men’s and women’s teams and as the inaugural Head Women’s coach, he compiled a 55-13 record, four consecutive conference playoffs, produced five regional All-Americans and was voted coach of the year during his tenure.

Prior to his four years at the collegiate level, he was the Head Girls lacrosse coach at Chichester H.S. for 8 seasons and coached 1 HS All American, coached football for 6 seasons and was an assistant boys lacrosse coach at Chatham H.S. in New Jersey for its inaugural season.

He served as an assistant coach at Avon Grove H.S. from 2007-2010 helping the Red Devils to two consecutive playoff appearances and during that time served as the Director of the Avon Grove Wildcats youth lacrosse organization. Bob is also the Director and founder of Pioneer Lacrosse Co.
